IBM ServeRAID M-Series

The IBM ServeRAID M-Series family of products offers a complete server storage solution consisting of RAID controllers, cache/flash modules, energy packs, and software feature upgrades in an ultra-flexible offerings structure.

These products are optimized to deliver performance demanded by ever-growing I/O requirements of today's enterprises. They integrate popular disk media such as SAS and SATA HDDs and emerging solid state disks into an organization's storage infrastructure.

ServeRAID M1115 offers a low-cost RAID 0/1/10 solution that can be upgraded to a cacheless RAID 5 with a Features-on-Demand license upgrade. ServeRAID M5110 and M5120 cap the top end of the spectrum with a superior array of features. While M5110 comes as a small form factor PCIe adapter, M5110e comes integrated with the IBM System x3650 M4 server. The M5120 is the external version of M5110 providing connectivity to external JBODs and also comes in a small form factor PCIe adapter. They share a common set of upgrades simplifying inventory management. Clients looking for added write performance can benefit from a 512MB cache module with a battery for cache protection. ServeRAID M5120, M5110, and M5110e also support 512 MB and 1 GB Flash-Backed-Cache-Offload modules allowing clients to have an extended-life energy source for cache protection in their storage subsystem. A set of Features-on-Demand license upgrades provide RAID 6/60 and performance optimization as well as caching with solid state media.
